I must admit that I’ve become a little too comfortable with our Yahoo Group. We have a couple of groups and primarily use it as a document repository, internal calendar and as a listserv. We’ve been using is for a couple of years now. I’ll be honest. I think I’m the only one that uses the internal functionality. We have 3 other board members and from what I can tell, they really don’t use the tool. We do have a couple of regular posters to our Listserv, but again, not a lot of traction. Is Yahoo Groups still “all that”? Is there another tool we should be using for these functions? I would love to hear new ideas.

At the moment I’d say that google apps are stronger then Yahoo. I still use my.yahoo.com and flickr.com, but that is basically because of my DSL service provides these to me free.
But for my consulting company, I have switch most everything else to google apps (www.google.com/apps). Google Docs is very strong for collaboration. Google Reader for keeping track of all the blogs. gmail for my mail accounts. Calendar sharing and publishing is strong too.
But what drives it over the top for me is the single sign-on to gain access to all these web apps. That is a big plus when I’m traveling and only have access to a browser.
This is all great info, Tim. I’ve used Google apps individually, but not as a complete package. We’ll give it a try! Thanks!!
